The only reason I have kept it so long and put up with how terrible it is, is because it was expensive and past it’s warranty.Main-stream and sub-stream concept was first developed by Hikvision. I’m convinced they don’t speak English at all, they have a paper in front of them with English words on it and when you say key words they just flip to that page and read off an algorithm to you, so asking for clarification doesn’t help because they just repeat exactly whatever they just said, there’s no conversation capability. It’s obviously sourced in some other country, and while the customer service reps are attempting to say English words, their accents are SOOOO heavy, they’re almost impossible to understand. DO NOT GET THIS SYSTEM!!! Good luck getting ahold of someone in support that “speaks English”. No live feed, no searching previous recordings, complicated interface in the app, not user friendly in any way. In the last 3 years it has been nothing but trouble. The mobile app worked, playback, live feed, everything was very easy. I’ve had this stupid system for 5 years, for the first two years it was great. Never works, if I could rate a zero, I would. Family is experiencing the same issue since the software upgrade. I have also noticed the app is EXTRA glitchy on our smart phones since installing the software update for Apple-so it must not be all that compatible. The company said they do not know when they Will have a compatible app for the upgrades. If they don’t work half the time, what’s the point? Also, this app is not compatible with the new software upgrade for the iPad, but works for the iPhone, with the exact same software upgrade. The purpose of having cameras is to have the capability to check in on your home from your smart phone or tablet/ iPad when away. Sometimes spending 1-2 hours on the phone and the issue isn’t resolved until hours later. We’ve had our systems about 6 months and have already had to place 5 calls for customer service. My family has the same system with a different internet provider and experiences exactly the same problems. Now the app works better than I’ve ever experienced. Thank you! App Update in May 2018 was quirky at first.
